INTRAVIS at FAKUMA - Our report
In mid-October, our sales team was at FAKUMA in Friedrichshafen. Between October 17 and 21, they presented our innovations in the field of IML inspection and, together with four other partner companies, presented a revolutionary solution for the medical industry. Here is a report from the trade fair.
Overall, the trade fair was well attended and a real success for us. While we had always exhibited systems at partner companies at previous FAKUMA exhibitions, this time we set up a partner stand with our long-standing friends from Beck Automation. This was the first time we were able to have our own stand at FAKUMA.
The second and third days in particular were very busy and our team was able to make many new contacts. It was certainly helpful that we presented a world first for the medical industry in cooperation with Kebo, MCC Verstraete, Beck Automation and Arburg. This combined medical materials, special IML labels, advanced automation and a quality inspection system for a medical application - more precisely, small plastic tubes with an IML scale - in one system. Our IMLWatcher inspects the label, the neck finish and the thread and thus assumes a great deal of responsibility. Only if the label scale is applied completely and accurately and bad parts are identified can it be guaranteed that the medicine will be administered correctly during subsequent use.
The system ran the entire trade fair from morning to evening and was well attended throughout. Our Sales Manager Malte Westermann looked after the system on site and reported afterwards: "As soon as the system was started in the morning, the first interested parties were already there to take a look at the solution. And this continued every evening until the end of the trade fair. The team, i.e. the five partner companies, worked together to develop a revolutionary solution that definitely attracted a lot of attention."
The fact that this solution appeared on the front page of the trade fair newspaper handed out at the entrance on the second day certainly helped the flow of visitors.
In addition to this world first, our IMLWatcher was also presented in two "normal" applications. At our own stand, we presented a combination of a handling system from Beck Automation and our IMLWatcher. And at Netstal's stand we also showed how our IMLWatcher can inspect the label for misalignment and contamination as well as for color deviations and back injection.
Our conclusion about Fakuma: We are considering being there again next year. Because for the IML market in particular, this is THE trade fair for us in German-speaking countries.
