All INTRAVIS inspection systems ordered from January 2025 will be delivered cloud ready. This is because the edge device will be integrated into all systems as standard from this date. This decision brings several advantages for customers.
"We have made a conscious decision to deliver all systems ordered from January 2025 with the Edge Device and therefore cloud-ready," says Janina Orlowski, Head of Marketing & Product Management.
The biggest advantage for the customer: They can flexibly decide at a later date whether they also want to use the data collected by the inspection system for cloud-based software solutions such as IntraVisualizer. There is no need for costly retrofitting of the necessary hardware. "This means that the inspection system is already future-proof for the next decade," says Janina Orlowski.
Another advantage is the increased IT security for the inspection system. The edge device provides a firewall-secured, standardized interface between the inspection system and any external networks. This increases the protection of the system and the data on it. At the same time, all data on the system is only made available in encrypted form. This is an important aspect, particularly with regard to the future data security requirements of the NIS 2 directive.
The edge device and its functionalities also open up a number of possibilities for the future. "For example, a kind of remote monitoring by our service is conceivable. This could alert customers to problems or provide immediate assistance in the event of alerts," says Janina Orlowski. In addition, it would also be easier and safer to install updates via remote maintenance and thus keep the system permanently up to date and efficient.
